Some Thoughts on Full-Time Ministry and Secular Employment

Ironically, Jesus established one function in the brains of His disciples, that of ongoing the ministry expansion of the empire of God on earth after His departure. He related this function with seven points he referred to in Functions 1:8. The very first one begins with people, including you and I. God’s initial intent was to create the good news of salvation through His Child, Jesus. First, Jesus in His earthly ministry shown the empire and then taught His disciples (Acts 1:1). He then made that obligation over to the absolute most uncommon people. Number you might have regarded and plumped for these twelve men to be on the team. Jesus did. The team consisted of a few fishermen, a duty enthusiast, a zealot and others. That were Galileans with the exception of Judas Iscariot who came from the southern part of Israel. A number of these Galileans were unschooled (illiterate) and regular (idiots) men (Acts 4:13), while the others were from the marketplace arena. This was not a dream staff by any standards. The apostle John in his page to the Corinthians observed:

Friends, consider what you had been when you were called. Not many of you’re smart by individual requirements; few were significant; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the silly things of the entire world to disgrace the clever; God find the fragile things of the world to shame the strong. He find the lowly things of this world and the despised points and the things that are not to nullify the things that are, in order that no one may boast before Him. (1 Corinthians 1:26-29)

Lord was going to use the most uncommon visitors to spread His gospel to a lost world. His function for picking these men was so they’d understand that salvation and the wonders could be wrought by heavenly treatment, maybe not by man’s capacity or ingenuity. God would get the credit for the blind obtaining their sight, the dull strolling, the useless climbing your, and countless of men and women visiting Christ.

But it had been a particular itinerant preacher, by the title of John the Baptist, who originally directed to the Messiah because the One who can baptize them with the promised Holy Spirit: I baptize you with water, but He [Jesus] may baptize you with the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8 Ministry)

Jesus not only stated them the Sacred Soul but He will be the one who would satisfy His own promise. This assurance, present in Joel 2:28, was satisfied by the ascended Christ in the second section of Acts. Jesus had used forty of His article resurrection days with His apostles reminding and exposing in their mind His empire strategy. Among the numerous techniques He shared together was the assurance of the Sacred Spirit. This offer will be achieved fifty times out from His resurrection. The disciples didn’t know exactly when this offer will be fulfilled but only that it might occur soon. They just thought and acted upon His words.

It had been to all or any skin, from minimal to the greatest, that God stated to fill out His Heart; to His daughters and daughters, maiden and handmaiden, young and old alike. This Old Testament promise stumbled on fruition on the afternoon of Pentecost subsequent Jesus’demise and resurrection. It absolutely was, indeed, a wonderful surprise from heaven. When Lord claims you and me anything it will come to pass in the time that He decrees. But, what did that promise produce in his people? It provided them with a divine power to create concrete benefits in a global taken by suffering, infirmity and death. That power could now be accessible and operable in God’s people.
